About Us About Anne Taylor

I took my first "job" as a child going out into my garden to pick the vegetables, then made my famous zucchini bread. I would wrap them up and go around selling the bread to my customers (also known as my neighbors), along with all my fruits and vegetables from my garden. My next job was around 12 when I would make lunch for all the neighborhood kids during summer, when we came in from playing outside. My specialties were pasta, macaroni and cheese, peanut butter and jelly, or soup, all favorites among my peers.

However, I really found my passion for food and cooking around my freshman year in high school, when I would help out my mom in the kitchen making dinner, as a time to just talk to her about all the school gossip. Then my sophomore year I became very health conscious and wanted to know what was going into my meals, so I started preparing more of the entrees, so that I could weigh in on the ingredients. I would take tips from my family, and watch hours of the Food Network, just trying to learn some new techniques to embellish my dishes. I was for the most part self-taught, by testing many variations of family recipes along with creating some of my own masterpieces. Then my junior year I simply enjoyed cooking full time. Every night I would make dinner for my family or friends who would come over, and had them critique my cooking, until I would perfect that plate.

There was a period a few years back that my family was struggling financially, and we could no longer enjoy the pleasure of going out to dinner. But, I did not let this stop me, I simply took matters into my own hands and made our very own “Fresh Healthy Gourmet Food”. Then many other individuals offered to pay me to help them cook for various events. I realized the opportunity that was in front of me to make some extra money to help out my family, in their time of need. Then the next two years were a roller coaster ride with everything falling into place and many events to give me more experience and new customers, who were all so supportive.

I have attended the Art Institute of San Diego for culinary classes, which was an awesome opportunity. Now I am currently attending Point Loma Nazerene University, planning to major in Nutrition: Food Service Management to continue with my motto. "Fresh Healthy Gourmet Food." I love being in the kitchen, making new creations and interacting with quality people at great events. I now have a business Anne Taylor Catering, which is ready to service your needs at affordable pricing. We strive to make every event special and look forward to exceeding your expectations.
